New Diary: Sakura Gakuin Students' Diary 20150222 Yui

Title: Kurage-hime

Hello☆ It's Yui :)

The other day, I had a date with Rinon.
We watched the movie "Kurage-hime"!!

As Rinon said on LoGiRL, Yui and Rinon never miss to watch movies together, in which our adoring Nounen Rena-chan play the leading part♡♡ We had been longing to watch 'Kurage-hime' together since we heard Nounen Rena-chan play in the movie, and finally, our hope came true♪

In the movie, there were many eccentric otaku-characters and it was so fun. The movie described that something which can't be fulfilled by a person might be come true by joining forces of many people!! Yui felt it wonderful after all to make efforts for a goal together, with trusting each other. And I felt happy to think that is exactly what we Sakura Girls were just trying✿

And two of us bought Kurage-hime goods, then went to an all-you-can-eat buffet. We had a lot. talked a lot, and stuffed ourselves. :D

In this school year, Yui and Rinon also went to watch the movie 'Hot Road'. Joining Hana, three of us went to an amusement park, or ate together so many times. (there has been too many times to mention each one of them lol). Once we even ate together for three days in a row♥ lol
I think I had dates with Rinon the most in this school year.
Rinon, let's have a movie-date again♥

Yui

Hedoban magazine Kobametal Interview about Road of Resistance, Babymetal, DragonForce collaboration and more...

The number of things we would like to ask Kobametal are almost unlimited in scope.

(Title) The producer of Babymetal who should more properly be called the “Metal command tower” appears in “Hedoban” for the first time in about 1 year!

“Road of Resistance”! “Live at Budoukan ~ Red night”! Overseas warrior training journey!

This can not be reduced simply to the genre of “Melodic Speed Metal”. “Road of Resistance” which should be referred to as the greatest Metal Anthem coming of out Japan in recent years. The clear and blaring sound of the “Red Night Edition” is knocking people over right and left. The multitude of Miracles shown during the overseas warrior training journey that followed on the heels of the “Live at Budoukan ~ Red Night”. Due to the fervent love call of “Hedoban” Kobametal answered our requests with a mail based interview about hints as to where Babymetal is headed following their “Legend 2015 ~ New Spring Festival” performance.

Regarding “Road of Resistance”

Q: When did you begin to start creating “Road of Resistance”? I remember you saying before when we talked with you when you were working on the Babymetal album that “you had a song in the works that had an even higher BPM”. Were you referring to the “Road of Resistance”?

Kobametal: The basic form of the song was ready quite a ways back, but it took on the structure of a song in 2013, I think.

Q: With Babymetal songs made up to this point you have incorporated things from a variety of Metal sub-genres. “Road of Resistance” has a 100% degree of pure so-called “Melodic Speed Metal” to it. Were you, Kobametal, personally pondering doing a “Melodic Speed Metal with Babymetal”?

Kobametal: With the songs of “IDZ” and “Akatsuki” that we have released in the past we already had incorporated Melodic Speed Metal aspects so I was not particularly making an attempt to do so anew with this song.

Q: Is the Metal sub-genre of Melodic Speed Metal one of the types of Metal that you personally like? Also, what facets of Melodic Speed Metal attract you?

Kobameta: Personally, Melodic Speed Metal is a type of music that I have been listening to from a long time ago. With its high speed guitar work and drumming laid over with a melody I am attracted by, and I mean this as a compliment to this type of music, to its various components that are often called somewhat “uncool”.

Q: The first time I heard “Road of Resistance” in London I was truly surprised, but when I heard the finished studio song with all the various sounds packed into it I was once again and further surprised. Were there certain things you were focusing on or any difficulties you may have encountered when working on it?

Kobametal: The point I was really trying to pay attention to was just how “Babymetal” could we make it sound. The difficult part was the high tempo of the song I guess you could say.

Q: In Vol. 1 of “Hedoban”, “Kobametal-san's selections <29 Loud/Metal albums (+1) >,” you selected Dragon Force and so I would assume that they are a band that you like and so I would like to ask you what you find appealing about them from your point of view?

Kobametal: It would be the fact that they do not let you down in your expectations of them and so speaking kind of metaphorically, it is like when you order a dish at a restaurant hoping to get the exact same taste that you got when you ordered and tasted it before. I feel that they have an originality that could be called the “Dragon Force beat” that they provide at just the right place in a song with just the right sound and melody.

Answer letter from Suzuka Nakamoto

Hi. This is the letter from Suzuka. It’s a Touji letter to everyone.

My three years in Jr. High have been immersed in Sakura Gakuin. Since I had to come from Hiroshima in the first two years, I did independent trainings at home by myself, and repeated to get on the first one (train or airplane, unclear) and to get on the last airplane to go home. However, since I moved to Tokyo I couldn’t wait to see you after school. Though Sakura Gakuin members come from different schools and vary in grades, I’ve learned a lot from your hard working attitudes to your dreams regardless of age. We have talked a lot, been troubled and supported each other. I’m glad to find the new aspects of each member.

In the lessons before recordings, we read lyrics out loud every time and thought about the meanings of lyrics. Some of you researched in difficult words and phrases. Before lives, we thought what messages we should send to fukei-san and repeated rehearsals checking the song orders and lyrics. As sometimes I failed and got scolded, the teachers have always listened to my opinions carefully and thought about them together. All fukei-san have watched us with kindness and warm hearts every time. The three graduates have kept an eye on me with smiles on the wallpaper of my cell phone. Thanks to all of them, I was able to take steps forward with confidence at any time, even though I was the lone Jr. High 3rd grader this year. Thank you very much. As I love singing since I was little, Sakura Gakuin taught me the pleasure of singing much more.

Through the Sakura Gakuin club activity, I had a lot of experience and met so many people. I realized that “Music” has a variety of worlds, and learned songs could be a way to communicate with an unspecified large number of people and connect people regardless of distance. That deepened my interest and affection to singing more. My dream is to be a singer. I’d like to learn lots more and make challenges. My goal is to become a singer who can send the world only Nakamoto Suzuka can describe and the messages only Nakamoto Suzuka can dispatch to all over the world. To achieve that, lots of things would be awaiting which I need to learn and make effort to. I feel that the three years we’ve spent with smiles and the songs of Sakura Gakuin would push me forward whatever happens in the future. I’ll do my best for my dreams.

New Diary: Sakura Gakuin Students' Diary 20150217 Moa

Title: JaJaJah〜n!

Good mornooning❤ It's Moa.

This year's our first show "The Road to Graduation 2014 〜Happy Valentine〜" ended. Thank you very much for coming!!

I know there are many people who wanted to come but unfortunately couldn't.....we always play each one of shows imagining every Fukei-sans were with us. Our days in 2014nendo are numbered and I hope we can make our hearts into one in the remaining days!

There was a merch of the concert "Turning into a club-member" photo-set. At the shooting of th photo-set, we Sakura members were all hyped. Because.....oh, can't you see the reason?? It's too apparent! We could wear the club-costume which we usually can't wear, and we could play a role of a club-member we don't belong to♪♫

We didn't know who plays which club member untill the morning of the shooting. We knew it seeing a script when we enterd the shooting studio. We could play our role in all seriousness and it was so fun♥❤

Moa played not only a club member but also...Mori-sensei!

Fukei-sans, did you guess correctly who played Mori-sensei's role?

For those who have not seen the photo-set, I show you my personal snapshot!!!!!!

It's not MOri-sensei, But MOa-sensei!! :D

Hehehe❤ Looks like him? :D

Sakura members praised me saying 'A dead ringer!!'♫

Cherish students the most☆ It was Moa.

Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal) Solo Interview on her Official Sakura Gakuin Photo Book

A Japanese Sakura Gakuin fan provided a translation of Suzuka Nakamoto interview on her official photo book for the foreign Sakura Gakuin fans. The photo book was published after she graduated from Sakura Gakuin. The translation was made by u/YM-Japan.

Q: I heard form a teacher that Su-chan knew the Sakura Gakuin opening just before it got started.
Su: That’s right. The audition (selection lesson) began in the summer when I was in 6th grade, but I wasn’t informed the details. I thought it was a lesson in which we learn set pieces, train our voices and dances, and perform them once in a month (in Tokyo). So I took it lightly, like “Oh, I can meet the members.” But I lost contacts suddenly from the end of the summer. I got phone calls from some members “We had a lesson today”, so I thought “What?” “Oh well, I can’t help it cause I live in Hiroshima.” Then I was told “we are going to describe the opening of Sakura Gakuin. Would you come to Tokyo?” just after the beginning of the year.

Q: Surprised?
Su: Yes, like “Wow, what’s going to happen?” Then I was asked if I wanted to join Sakura Gakuin.
Q: Did you feel any gap with the other members in Tokyo? You had come from Hiroshima. (TL note: Hiroshima is about 670km away from Tokyo. 4.5h by train, 1.5h by air)
Su: I often did, especially when it started. I couldn’t go to the lessons most of the time including the first choreography lesson. So I had them send videos to practice by myself, but I mastered them mirrored and had to do it over from scratch. Sometimes I thought it would be bothering for others….Besides I hadn’t met the members for 6 months before the opening and they were already getting along well, so….

Q: You felt a distance?
Su: Not so much, though… umm… I had to go home alone.

Q: When did your feeling change?
Su: The elder three (Ayami Muto, Ayaka Miyoshi, Airi Matsui) game me the chance. In the early times we were often divided into the Jr. High group and the elementary group, thus the four, Ayami-chan, Ayaka-chan, Airi-chan and Su- were often together. They took care of me and taught me studies since I was the youngest among us. I was so glad and happy.

Q: Then Sakura Gakuin became active. Would you tell us any unforgettable incidents in the early Sakura Gakuin?
Su: My first late coming is unforgettable. Lol. On the day of TIF (Tokyo Idol Festival 2010), the first stage for Sakura Gakuin, I and Nene-don(Sugisaki Nene) got late badly. While Airi-chan and Ayaka-chan went out (of their dormitory) earlier, we were sleeping because we were supposed to arrive the venue later. Nene-don woke me up but I fell asleep again. Then she routed me out, forced to put my cloths on and pulled me out.

Q: By a teacher?
Su: By Nene-don. She got mad at me “Hurry up!”, but still I was half asleep. Then I got a phone call from a teacher and finally woke up. I was responsible to answer in those cases cause I’m elder, but obviously Nene-don was more matured at that time. (laugh)

Q: What happened after that?
Su: We got scolded severely. Everyone was nervous for the first stage but we two didn’t show up. Besides Nene-don forgot the shoes we were suppose to bring. So the teacher said “Go back and get it!!” (laugh).

Q: It should have happened.
Su: After the TIF stage, Nene-don was called to a room and scolded, maybe for her forgetfulness. Four members were waiting for her (including Su-). The other 3 were talking as usual like “Is Nene-don alright?” But I was thinking “I was the other one who were late…”. I can’t forget the unsettling feeling for not being scolded. (laugh)

Q: Still the first stage was successful.
Su: Yes.

Q: So that was the memory of 2010, how about 2011?
Su: The recorder (English flute) one, maybe. In Gakuinsai (Sakura Gakuin Festival 2011) we performed recorders. At the beginning Rinon (Isono) couldn’t play at all, Su- was next to her giving her encouragements. A couple of days later we had a test in which each member play a recorder taking turns. Though I played with confidence, I was said “do over”. I realized it later, I was changing my finger positions without holding my breath so that all notes sounded connectedly. Looking back from now I think I did it so weirdly, but I felt “Why do over?” I was confident at that time. I remember Su- and Moa-chan(Kikuchi) had to do it over. The teacher said something like “We won’t let you perform it on stage if you couldn’t fix it.” I felt deeply disappointed and ran off the lesson room. (laugh) Everyone there followed me worrying like “Are you O.K.?”

Q: That happens in youth.
Su: Right, but I didn’t want them to see me crying. Isn’t that awful? I would look like a loser. (laugh) So I said “Never come in!” and closeted myself in a room.

Q: Is Sakura Gakuin strict?
Su: Hmm…I think it’s like an ordinary school. But sometimes we were said “We won’t let you perform this song cause it hasn’t reached the level it should be” and “We gonna change the set list (the song order), do you know what it means?“, “You are an artist on stage.”

Q: Then Ayami Muto, Ayaka Miyoshi and Airi Matsui graduated at March 25 2012.
Su: I wanted to graduate with them at first. (laugh)

Q: Why?
Su: I didn’t like to be left alone. Those three were always looking forward, thinking about their future after the graduation, and I felt like I was left behind.

Q: It’s a rule of Sakura Gakuin to graduate when you graduate from Jr. High. When did you have a real feeling of their graduation?
Su: We had the first media interview as nine members around 9th April. We held an evaluation meeting after that again. Lol. At that time, I had a strong sense of “I must do”. So did the four Jr. High 2nd graders. All of us tried to take control, all of us tried to speak, and Jr. High 1st graders and Rinon were left behind. I realized how important the three (graduates) were at that moment. I guess I had a feeling of “things gonna work out somehow” somewhere in my mind until then. But I got stuck in the helpless situation and I didn’t know how to take control. If I tried, I would be said “You are not the student council president yet” and felt flustered. Su- was similar to Marina-chan (Horiuchi) who can only warn someone kindly. So I was wondering “What should I do…”. Rau-chan(Raura Iida) noticed Su-‘s impatience and took control of the situation instead. Though it went better, that made me impatient more… just like that.

Q: However, the members chose you as the president. Many people change once selected, right?
Su: I agree. Still it was so hard in the beginning. I thought “Come to think of it, I haven’t known each member well …” I had been acting as I liked before. I didn’t feel lonely that much being alone, and I talked when I needed someone with me. Thus I decided to begin with understanding them better. I set up personal interviews and others.

Q: To my impression, you began to warn them clearly since you became the president.
Su: Since around TIF (Tokyo Idol Festival 2012). We held an evaluation meeting two days before the stage, as usual. Lol. It was the last day of full-member practice because each of us was busy before that, though… (ex-president) Ayami-chan was good at creating a tense atmosphere. She is a person who can’t allow improper attitudes. Once she made the atmosphere, everyone felt and followed her. But Su- is not like her and the members also know Su- doesn’t get angry. There might be a lack of tension somewhere. They might be just tired of summer heat too. When I said “Let’s start practice”, someone said “It’s bothering”. I couldn’t say anything to that, wondering “What should I do…” But I couldn’t take an action. Then a teacher called me and said “Talk out what you all want to do in Sakura Gakuin now.” I talked to them “I can’t understand your attitudes, why you don’t practice seriously if you want to perform on stage. Do you think it’s alright to act like that while many people are working for us? Why don’t you quit if you don’t want to? , harshly for the first time.

Q: Then they understood what you meant.
Su: I thought “I might say too much…” at first. So I asked Moa-chan and Yui-chan in Babymetal , “I feel I’m talking in a condescending attitude lately…” They said “We have never thought like that, your warnings are rather helpful.” I felt Sakura Gakuin was united at the end of the summer. All of them became to believe in Su- and I really appreciated it. So it went smooth until Gakuinsai (Sakura Gakuin Festival 2012), we were not scolded. We’ve rarely spent time without being scolded. (laugh)

Q: You said “until”…
Su: I feel sorry for the fans who came to see the first day, but I couldn’t be satisfied with the performance. Thinking back, we were not a team on that day. There was a substantial awareness gap between the transferred members and the seniors, and the seniors also couldn’t support them enough. Each member thought about only herself. For example we couldn’t make eye contacts on the stage even though we tried hard. Each of us was filled with her own affairs. So we talked after the first day. I said “We have never been scolded for choreography. Why do we care so much about it? Isn’t it more important to enjoy performing than taking care too much of it? Thus we really enjoyed the second day.

Q: Sakura Gakuin has a meeting every time it has a trouble.
Su: Exactly. We are never satisfied ourselves without solving it. We have quarrels because we give ourselves away each other, but I feel we trust each other.

Q: Do you have any anxieties for your leave?
Su: Nothing special. I was told “worry about it.” (laugh) The Jr. High 2nd graders began to worry about Su- at this time of the last year. Looking back, I haven’t often thought “It’s so hard” thanks to the members’ support. Conversely I might be the cause of troubles. They might carry the burden named “Su-. (laugh)

Q: The burden? (laugh)
Su: I mean, when interviewers asked “What has the president been like?”, they only talked about my weird episodes. I’d like them to say “She’s been an excellent president” as they did for Ayami-chan. As a hope, I want them to say something good at the very end, but it’s “opposite sox.” (laugh)

Q: However, they wouldn’t say such stuff unless they trust and recognize you from the bottom of their hearts, right?
Su: Is that so? I feel I have been a president who got laughed at all the time. (laugh)

Q: What do you hope for the next Sakura Gakuin?

Su: Ayami-chan generation’s had their own color and Su-‘s had Su-‘s color, I guess, so I hope the four next 3rd graders to have their color only they can generate. It’s O.K. as it is, but I hope it changes in some way. If Sakura Gakuin didn’t change, I would definitely feel regretful. To be honest, I don’t want to graduate from Sakura Gakuin. But once it changes, I could see it objectively. When it changes enough to do so, I’ll become a fan of Sakura Gakuin.

New Diary: Sakura Gakuin Students' Diary 20150213 Moa

Title: Hairstyle

❤Ufufu...♥❤It's Moa...ufufu♥❤....ufufufufu♥❤♥
I had a happy moment...but I suspect I can announce it now. So, for now, I just tell you it was so fun. lol
Let me see.....How many more times can I write this diary?!
I have a lot to tell you. But I think I can't write everything till my graduation. The more I write, the more I want to tell you, I want to send you, I want to let you know.
I don't know how many more times I can write this diary, but I want to send as far as I can. Please bear with me❤

Please look this photo.

How do you think about her??
When a hairstylist set my hair in this style, I thought "Wow! Now I look like Airi-chan♥"
I'm sorry for it, to fans of Airi-chan.
But...in this hairstyle, I thought I look alike Airi-chan a little, and it made me happy♥ Please forgive me for enjoying this small happiness!

To be honest, I would like to show you Moa in this hairstyle at a stage of Sakura Gakuin. But, our hairstyles are basically decided by our teachers for us!! We dance wildly at the stage and our hairstyle must be easy to dance with. But, I think this hairstyle is not bad for dancing. Dear teachers, please put it into one of possible hairstyles of me for a concert.
I hope it will come true till my graduation.

Girls want to have their hair in cute, their favorite styles!! Female Fukei-sans can understand my feeling, can't you? I just love cute things. I love being cute♥♥
I watched a TV commercial of 'XY' in which Hirose Suzu-chan (the following poster girl of XY after Matsui Airi-chan) is crying. Crying Suzu-chan made my eyes ♥heart-shaped♥. Too cute! After all, I just feel happy to see her kawaii-ness!

I also love to see Hirose Suzu-chan on drama 'Gakkou no Kaidan' every week♥
I usually can't watch the programs in real time. But I never miss to record and watch them♪
As the same president of student council, I watch the drama thinking 'If I were her"--how I can persuade teachers or other students to do something, how I can climb a step to improve our school. ....And how I can send what I want to send in the last two months. I will try my best!!

Someone may think Moa being so naive that dramas or animes made me move deeply. BUT! The cute things are cute♥ Having fun is fun!!! I love to see my loving things♥ My favorite things give me power!!

I can't dislike such naive, pure and simple me. I want to be such Moa forever♥ For sure, I also love merry, funny things!!! I want to show you many kind of expressions of me♪♫

Drive yourself forward without fear, Moa!!!

P.S. I also love to eat, as always. I will eat without fear. lol

BOH Blog - Kami Band Bassist

Thank you for reading my entries every time. I'm going to write some philosophical thoughts this time after so long. But I'm just a man learning still. I might say some stupid things then please laugh at me it's okay.
So there are "bad" things and "good things" in the world. Then different people judge the same thing in different ways. What I think it's good can be regarded as bad for other people. And we might not agree with the reasons why it's good or bad if we can agree it's good or bad.
More, the extent how much it's good or bad might be different if we can share the same reasons. Experiences and circumstances also might make the differences. I think good and bad about things are chosen by one's convenience. We say something as good when it's convenient for ourselves, and vise versa.
Human mind and the way of thinking. In general what makes our history as it is is just a recurrence that we scrap circumstances when these got inconvenient for us then try to build different ones that are going to be inconvenient eventually.
But I don't deny that. What I want to deny is a state of mind of "any failure by someone, any success by me." It's not natural. Living a life should not be like that.
We have to thank everything around us, give some respect to what it is in different opinions. We can't live only by ourselves. We owe our lives to others and things around us.
It's a first step to understand the fact. But we mankind have taken the first step yet. We are just dumb to forget we live in the world that gives us so many things.
I want to be the one with this important mindset to thank others from bottom of my heart and want to be the one who notice given cares from others.
As my profession, sounds from my bass plays show everything from my thoughts to my personal life to my state of mind. Because my life as a person is, nothing to say, longer than that as a bass player.
I will play the bass always by keeping it in my mind.
I get moved most from seeing all of musicians, members and fans get moved. To have these moments as many as possible, I can't stop learning more and more. To make "good" things for me good things eventually. And I hope good things for you reach out to many people.
It's just my monologue. (B ・o ・H)

New Diary: Sakura Gakuin Students' Diary 20150204 Yui

Title: Look alike?

It's Yui.
I know this is sudden, but do you think Yui and Sara look alike!?
OKay, first of all, I show you our photos in various expressions.

We are often said to look alike by other members and teachers. And I agree to it. Not only in facial expressions, but also in our personalities -- such as we both can't express ourselves in public well...lol I sometimes told Sara "We are alike in personality too"♪

The other day, Yui had my hair cut! Then Sara told me "Have you had your hair permed straight?" No way! How can she misunderstand it? lol

Another day, Sara wanted to say 'No problem' and said 'No program'...lol So I told her "It's wrong. You must say 'No problem'♪". A few weeks later, Sara said 'No proglem'... Close!!! lol
Sara often comes to me and asks advice on dancing or the meaning of lyrics. It's my pleasure to be a help of hers★ I feel happy to see Sara grow up fast.

We enjoy chit-chats, and talk serious matters. Sometimes Sara consult me on her problems. Once she wrote a letter to me♥ It made me really happy. Thank you, Sara!

When I was young, my adoring graduates had supported Yui. I'm not sure I could have done the same things to Sara...but I think it wonderful that a kouhai having been supported by senpais grow up to be a next senpai who now support next kouhais....don't you think so?

I am heartily thankful to have been able to join Sakura Gakuin♥

Funny: Yuimetal's head is on fire?

No. Yui's head is not on fire and there was no accident. This is just a picture that an anonymous Babymetal fan captured during Babymetal's concert in O2 Academy Brixton, London. It just so happens that Yui is parallel to the pyrotechnics that created a pillar of flame. But this is a pretty rare and unintentionally hilarious picture.

Another funny coincidence is that Yui's favorite phrase is "Complete Combustion" (完全燃焼) which is according to what she has written on her Ema and on her diary. I guess Yui got her wish granted.

A fan created a parody fan art of that funny picture.
